Generic trailer music... can anyone tell me what it is?

I've noticed a haunting choral track in the trailers of several movies (the remake of War of the Worlds and Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers as examples) that seems to be used in the initial trailers during action scenes, and is then replaced in later versions of the trailer by more movie-specific scores - can anyone tell me what it is or who wrote it?

Hello,

I'm not sure whether i can help you, however, maybe you find your answer here.
Choral music used in the War of the Worlds trailers and TV Spots is:

- With Great Power (by Immediate Music)
- Final Omen 2.0 (Immediate Music)
- Gothic Power Mix2 (X-Ray Dog Music)

This is the listing as far as I know, for more info you may visit http://www.soundtrack.net.

The Two Towers:

- Requiem for a Ring (Remix of the Power-Overture theme
from "Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell)
- Redrum 2.0 (Immediate Music) [you can listen to a low quality version of this track at http://www.immediatemusic.com]
- Music from the Fellowship-Soundtrack

For Gothic Power is one of the most used trailer cues I guess you mean this, but it has been used in the LotR - Fellowship trailers, not The Two Towers. There are also different remixes of it:

- Gothic Power, Mix1 & 2
- The New Gothic Power
- The New Gothic Power Remix
- Army of Doom

Yes, it was the Fellowship trailer - http://www.lordoftherings.net/trailers/ - the second half of it.

Edit - yes, it was "Gothic Power" - I understand that this is a well-known track - thank you.
